Lead-In
0.17
Description
The opening composition incorporates Scourby’s introductory remarks, which are recorded at the beginning of Side 1 on each record. The composition closes with Christ’s admonition to those who can hear (physically and, metaphorically, spiritually), to listen. The quotation (which is not included in the introductory remarks) addresses the main objective of The Talking Bible record set: to appeal to the ears of those who may ‘have eyes to see, and see not’ – being, those who were either born or have become blind (Ezekiel 12.2).
The title refers to the ‘silent’ groove (on which no recording has been made) that spirals-in from the periphery of the disc towards the start of the track on either side.
